Vanuatu means “Land Eternal” and lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire. It consists of approximately 82 islands, which are of volcanic origin. The flag of Vanuatu is a blend of four colors - red, green, black and yellow. There is a yellow 'Y' - that is bordered and filled in with black - placed horizontally on the flag. This represents the Vanuatu chain of islands, which are in this particular shape. The National emblem of the Republic of Vanuatu is placed inside the black triangle.
