Retired Chief Master Sgt. Ralph Barnett stands in the foyer of the Pacific Air Forces Headquarters building Dec. 4, 2006 at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. The flag that Chief Barnett is standing in front of was the flag that flew over Hickam Field during the attack on Dec. 7, 1941. The PACAF building was a consolidated barracks where then Buck Sgt. Barnett lived. Buck Sgt. Barnett was the assistant armament chief for the 23rd Bombardment Squadron assigned to Hickam Field. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Tech. Sgt. Shane A. Cuomo)
