Despite the fact that the United States Navy chose not to incorporate this song into their recruiting campaign upon its 1978 release, sticking to their original slogan, "Anchors Aweigh," the disco hit, "In the Navy," achieved gold status in the United States and left a lasting imprint for years to come.

Established in March of 1794, the United States Navy has evolved into the world's largest and most formidable navy. As of 2015, its active battle fleet surpasses the combined weight of the subsequent 13 navies, with 11 of them being allies. The need for recruits is evident, given its sheer magnitude and global influence.
